1921 Twin City "20-35" Tractor
The Twin City "20-35" tractor was manufactured by the Minneapolis
Steel and Machinery Company of Minneapolis, Minnesota, from 1921 to
1928. It featured a 5 1/2 x 6 3/4 inch 4-cylinder Twin City engine,
with the cylinders cast in pairs, and valve-in-head design. The Twin
City "20-35" tractor developed approximately 20 horsepower on the
drawbar and 35 horsepower on the belt. The company rated the tractor
to be able to pull a 5 or 6 bottom, 14 inch plow under normal conditions.
The tractor weighed approximately 8,100 pounds, stood 6 feet
tall, and was over 12 feet long and 7 feet wide. Other features
were an integral unit frame, Holley carburetor, three-speed transmission,
pressure lubrication, and dry plate clutch. According to Pazandak,
the Twin City "20-35" tractor was very well built and "a most desirable
tractor for heavy work."
