Woodstock election. To the editor of the "Oxford University Herald."

AUTHOR/CREATOR
Liberal of the Liberals

CREATED/PUBLISHED
Oxford, England: Oxford University Herald, November 28, 1868

NOTES
Letter to the Editor of the Oxford University Herald written by Dodgson and dated November 24, 1868. His diary for this date noted: "An account of the Woodstock election has appeared in the Oxford Chronicle, written by a Liberal, but so charmingly candid as to the brutal behaviour of the Liberal electors, that I thought it a fair subject for a letter to the University Herald." Dodgson was, of course, a Conservative. The letter was reprinted in full, for the first time, in Diary 6, p. 60, n. 92.
