Cromwell. To the editor of the Standard.

AUTHOR/CREATOR
Wills, W. G.

CREATED/PUBLISHED
London, England: Standard, October 25, 1872

NOTES
Letter to the Editor of the Standard from William Gorman Wills (1830-1891), the dramatist of Charles I, a drama in four acts. He explained the historical background to his characterisation of Cromwell. Dodgson saw the play at the Lyceum on January 10, 1873, and noted: "Mr. Irving acted well, and so, I thought, did Miss Isabel Bateman as Henrietta Maria." Dodgson made some manuscript corrections to the letter in violet ink.
