Miss P. Horton's "gatherings."

CREATED/PUBLISHED
London, England: Times?, April 3, 1855

NOTES
Priscilla Horton (1818-1895), actress and singer, who married Thomas German Reed (1817-1888) in 1844, helped to establish the German Reed Entertainments, suitable for Victorian Society's sensibilities when many people shunned the theatre as a result of low tone and coarseness. Dodgson knew the German Reeds personally and often supported their concerts.
