Population of the world.

NOTES
The article estimated that the population of the world was then 1,000 million people. Dodgson wrote a paper entitled "On the population of the World" dated August 19, 1853, while he was an undergraduate at Christ Church (MS. Princeton), in which he used the same figure. Dodgson calculated that if the average life span was 10 years, 192 people would die every minute.
