Prologue spoken at amateur theatricals in aid of the Sunderland Orphan Asylum.

NOTES
The prologue is dated December 22, 1862. Dodgson had links with Sunderland. Some of his Wilcox cousins worked there in the customs offices and as shipbrokers. They lived a short distance away at Whitburn, and Dodgson visited them there from time to time.
