South Wales Circuit. Cardiff ...
CREATED/PUBLISHED
July 1, 1855
NOTES
A humorous account of the Cardiff Assizes held before Lord Chief Justice Campbell. In the case of Powell vs. John - no one appeared. In the case of Hawkins vs. Williams - the case was undefended with some evidence provided but not yet ready. In the case of Price vs. Thomas - Dr. Price of Eglwysilian lost 137 goats and kids and much evidence was received, none of which was relevant to the case. The report was mainly about confusion in court. The date comes from the fact that July 26 was a Thursday in 1855.
