Notes
Interview with U.S. Congressman Bill Pascrell at his office in the Longworth House Office Building, Washington, DC, October 10, 2001. Pascrell is a native of Paterson, NJ.
Summary of audio segment: "I think the main reason why we've increased our population in the face of white flight is neighborhoods, which are the same as they were 80 years ago. Same neighborhoods. Different looking people that cook their foods different, but same neighborhoods . . . I think that's one of the reasons Paterson has staying power. Through fires, floods destroyed our city, Depressions destroyed our city, we're still there. We didn't get destroyed, it's not destroyed."
