Notes

Cuba Wiley grew up in Honey Bottom at the mouth of Shumate's Branch and Hazy Creek, and worked in coal and timber much of his life. His CB handle, "the Trading Post," relates to his prolific trade in second hand goods, talk, and tales. Hoping to trade in all three, we visited Cuba and his wife Mary in the company of Dave Bailey and were not disappointed. As the audio selections in this presentation show, Cuba is particularly knowledgeable concerning the history, terrain and forest species around Bradley Mountain, Cherry Pond Mountain, Hazy Creek, and Shumate's Branch.
