In the 1920s, Dr. Harvey Wiley, in charge of Good Housekeeping's Bureau of Foods, Sanitation, and Health, wrote features as well as a regularly featured column of consumer advice called "Dr. Wiley's Question-Box." Dr. Wiley was the former chief chemist at the U.S. Department of Agriculture.
