SUMMARY
One of three documents concerning the lawsuit Stout vs. Jones. Writ of Capias Ad Respondendum to the sheriff of Knox County, Indiana Territory for the detention of Peter Jones. Jones must be detained and brought to the April term of the Vincennes general court to answer Elihu Stout's plea of detinue of his indentured servant Phebe. [Note of capias' execution and bail amount page 2] signed by James Crow, sheriff.
