Caption from Down Beat: Benny has pretty much settled on the West Coast as his home. He did, however, go once over, lightly, the New York area for record sessions, one nighters and theater dates at such spots as the Apollo Theater, where this exposure was made. Benny couldn't decide which of his 46 different instruments to use for this pose. The trumpet happened to be handiest.
