Notes

Annebet Muceus talks about her ranching work on the 96 Ranch.
Annebet Muceus is an interesting and somewhat anomalous figure in Paradise Valley. She had been an art student at the University of California in Berkeley before moving to Lake Tahoe and, subsequently, to the valley. Her house and costume reminded me of California student styles. She has plunged into the man's world of ranch work on the Ninety-Six, working in the hayfields and riding as a buckaroo on roundups. It is hard not to be struck by the difference between her experiences and those reported by Martha Arriola in the collection.
