- Summary
- A rhythmically free statement of the light and very pretty "A" material is first presented with flugelhorn soloist and piano, moving then into the medium-Latin feel of the chart. Unison trumpets start the "B" section, then the full band gets the final "A." The solo section, which can be given to your feature player and/or others, is straightforward, utilizing the basic harmonies of the head--major seventh chords with several ii-V-I's. A fun unison band line, then a full-band chorus of slightly more complex figures ensues, followed by a return to the B material. A bit of free treatment then returns to a Latin vamp for closing, with some free blowing space over the repeated four bar closing figure. Grade 3. Latin, flugel feature. Key of F. Trumpet to written Bb.
