- Summary
- Composed in for Nicholas Esterhazy's name-day, the mass most likely received its premiere in the music hall of Schloss Esterhazy in Eisenstadt on December 6th, 1772 with the composer leading the vocal soli, chorus and orchestra. This new edition, thoroughly researched by Clark McAlister, includes a full continuo realization plus the extended version of the Credo which has become popular over the years. Originally issued in large score and parts by E.F. Kalmus in 2007 as A2646, Serenissima is pleased to make this outstanding edition available in an inexpensive study score format.
