- Summary
- This composition is named after the weather phenomenon of the same name. A tailwind blows in the direction of travel of an object, increasing the object’s speed and reducing the travel time of an object to its destination. This piece is in three sections and over the course of the work I tried to capture the feeling of having the wind at your back during a journey. The opening and closing sections being fast, energetic, and full of momentum as if sped forward by a very strong tailwind, and the middle section being tranquil and reflective but still moving forward as if guided by the gentle push of a breeze.
