- This composition is named after the weather phenomenon of the same name. A tailwind blows in the direction of travel -- of an object, increasing the object’s speed and reducing the travel time of an object to its destination. This piece is in -- three sections and over the course of the work I tried to capture the feeling of having the wind at your back during a -- journey. The opening and closing sections being fast, energetic, and full of momentum as if sped forward by a very -- strong tailwind, and the middle section being tranquil and reflective but still moving forward as if guided by the gentle -- push of a breeze.
