- Summary
- “The Cricket King” was composed in the spring of 2009 for three non-music major trumpet students at Brigham Young University, Heston von Evera, Allison Littlefield & Diana Stellman, and was premiered by this student trio on April 11, 2009. The students were asked to title the composition, and came up with an evocative character with a noble story yet to be authored. Another non-music major trumpet student, Gina Chu, illustrated the cover. -- The trio is challenging for amateurs and fun for more experienced musicians. It can serve as a regal celebratory fanfare for any occasion, or to begin a student recital. In the educational setting it is a fantastic piece to read in group lessons. Duration is approximately two minutes.
