| 520 | __ $a "Avalanche" is a highly rhythmic, energetic work. Completed in the Fall of 2016, the work was inspired by Arctic avalanches. Much syncopation is heard throughout the music to reflect the building chaos of the rolling snow. A calmer B section provides a break from the avalanche, while still using much of the same thematic material. Soon after, the avalanche starts again and continues until the end where the work reaches its climax. Level: grade 4 (intermediate-advanced) Duration: 6 minutes, 30 seconds. |
