- Summary
- These snare drum solos, each about one or two minutes in length, are for the intermediate-plus player of any age looking to have a concert snare drum experience featuring mixed meter. To engage with the works easier, it’s probably best to have the basics down. These are designed for the player with skills but without experience with mixed meter. (And if you have skills AND experience with mixed meter, you’ll simply get to the fun faster.) The two pieces may be enjoyed separately or as a set, and they may be worked on as studies or performed in a recital setting. At two minutes, Truman Rumination could work just fine for solo and ensemble contest. The collection title “Mixing It Up” can be used if performing as a two-movement work. --
