A nostalgic love story covering a thirty-year span involving three friends, Astaire, Bing Crosby and Joan Caulfield. Astaire has four musical numbers in this film: the opening number, "A Pretty Girl is Like a Melody" and "A Couple of Song and Dance Men" with Crosby; "Puttin' On the Ritz" a stupendous show-stopping solo with some deft tap dancing with a cane; and "Heat Wave" a lavish production number with faux pan-Latin American flavor that includes the singer Olga San Juan. - Source
