- A musical comedy in two acts, 14 scenes. book by Richard Rodgers and Lorenz hart. Music by Richard Rodgers. Lyrics by Lorenz Hart. Staged by Robert Sinclair. Choreography by George Balanchine. Opened 14 April 1937 at the Sam S. Shubert Theatre, moved 25 October 1937 to the Majestic Theatre, and closed 18 December 1937 after 289 performances.
In "Lee Calhoun's Follies" Nicholas Brothers (Fayard and Harold) perform specialty dance, "Nubians" an Egyptian-styled tap dance staged by Balanchine in which they jump over and slide through the legs of a all-female chorus. They appear in several scenes of the musical comedy, including the Act II scene "Peter's Journey." - Source
