Gene Nelson was delighted to work with Cagney in West Point Story : "He loved dancing...by nature he was an eccentric hoofer, that is, a dancer who invented funny little bits of business for himself. All of it was an extension of his stance and his walk and his body mannerisms. There was nobody else like him and we loved him." - Source
