On the evening of November 21, 1964, at the Village gate in New York City, jazz tappers Groundhog Basie and Chuck Green faced off in the fiercest tap challenge of their lives. Groundhog, strictly a hoofer, a dancer's dancer and the best that most had seen, challenged Chuck Green, protegé of the great John Bubbles. Jo Jones trio accompanied.
