- The Fall 1927 opening of the newly enlarged Duke Ellington orchestra at the uptown Cotton Club, Harlem's prestigious night club, on December 4, 1927 premiered a program that featured Dan Healy revue, Aida Ward, Edith Wilson, Jimmy Ferguson (later "Baron Lee" and leader of the Mills Blue Rhythm Band), Henry and LaPerl, and the tap dance team the Berry Brothers.
