Jerry LeRoy Rehearsal Studios/ Fazils Miscellaneous 1925 Fazil's Dance Studio, was first known as Michaels, owned by a former wrestler who taught acrobatics, tap, and ballroom dance. The Center's next owner was Jerry LeRoy, a vaudevillian whose specialty was tap dancing in ice skates, who renamed it after himself. It then was re-owned and named Fazils, which became a home to struggling tap, flamenco, and Middle Eastern dance artists. Located at 743 8th Avenue (between 46th & 47th Streets). Over the years, the studio hosted rehearsals for Copasetics, Brenda Bufalino, Herbin Van Cayseele, Savion Glover, and many other hoofers who gave private lessons. Fazils closed in 2008, after seventy-three years of renting dance studio space to dance artists of all styles.
