- Abstract
- "The Duke Ellington Band, in satisfactory form, closed the weekend and accompanied Bunny Briggs in "David Danced Before the Lord With All His Might" and "Honeysuckle Rose." Briggs executed spinning, stomping offbeat steps; he raced from one side of the stage to the other, his feet clicking a thousand to the yard; he slid through huge, funny half-time strides and sudden running tiptoe steps; and, for good measure, he did the Frug and Watusi. Even Johnny Hodges, who had spent an hour stonily contemplating the middle distance, watched." (Balliett)
