- Ellington's Concert of Sacred Music, which had its premiere at the Grace Cathedral in San Francisco in September 1965, was repeated in New York City at the Cathedral of St. John the Divine, with Louis Bellson solo singing, the band shouting, and Bunny Briggs tap dancing (reprising his original role) "David Danced before the Lord with All His Might" achieving what Whitney Balliett described as "a grandstanding majesty."Over 6,000 people attended the concert as a fundraiser for Exodus House, a drug rehabilitation center; CBS-TV filmed the proceedings for a future tribute to be aired under the title "Something About Believing."
