- Abstract
- At Carnegie Hall, during the Kool Jazz Festival, "Buddy Rich: A Retrospective" (produced by the jazz writer Burt Korall), the drummer was lionized not so much for his drumming as for his show business attributes. Photographs of him as a child star, as a teenage whiz in Joe Marsala's band, as a Tommy Dorsey twenty-two-year-old wunderkind... He did a short tap dance with Honi Coles.
