- These two concerts, a sell-out at $4.80 admission with 100 "standees" admitted by permission of the Fire Department, featured the Ellington Orchestra with supporting turns by the tap comedy team of Stump & Stumpy; one-legged tap dancer Peg Leg Bates, comedy rhythm team Patterson & Jackson, and Marie Bryant and her troupe (two men and four women).
