- Celebrating half a year of the famous "Jubilee" all-colored radio show transcribed for men in service overseas, an outstanding group of artists recorded a one-hour program featuring a battle of the bands between the orchestras of Jimmie Lunceford and Count Basie. Other stars on the program were Robinson. Recorded in a Hollywood radio station and for an audience of 340 persons, it was prepared to be broadcast in transcription form to reach all the armed forces, overseas.
