Book and lyrics by Ted Koehler; music by Rube Bloom; dances by Elida Webb and Leonard Harper; orchestration by Will Vodery, Claude Hopkins and Alex Hill. The cast: Nina Mae McKinney, Miller and Mantan, Butterbeans and Susie, Cora LaRedd, Juano Hernandez, Babe Matthews, Cook and Brown, Lena Horne, Babe Wallace, three Rhythm Queens, Rhythm Rascals, Connie Smith and Claude Hopkins' Orchestra with Orlando Robeson.
Jimmie Lunceford Band. The 26th edition has more talent than you can shake a stick at. Lena Horne a very pleasing ingenue; Butterbeans and Susie, Mantan and Juano Hernandez comedians. Nina Mae McKinney; the soubretting of Cora LaRedd; the legomania of Cook and Brown; the dancing of the 3 Rhythm Queens.
Cora LaRedd first introduces the song "Truckin'" at the Cotton Club in 1935.
Myrtle Quinland, a former Blackbirds chorine, is in the Cotton Club ensemble and she does the truckinest Truckin' I have ever seen.
