- Jerry Lewis Muscular Dystrophy Association Telethon opens with Jason Samuels' Smith tap choreography: three generations of tap dancers: Jason Samuels Smith, Chloe Arnold, Jared Grimes, with Joseph Wiggan, Skip Cunningham, Arlene Kennedy, Fayard Nicholas and Arthur Duncan; two girls; tap dancing to Afro-Blue, represents a salute and homage to the past veteran masters and a preview of the future: Samuels's hard-hitting in the swing pocket dancing; Arnold is swift and sleek as a low-heeled dancer; and Grimes is a hard-hitting funkier dancer; as dancers soloed, projections of their dancing on the back screen; ends with a company salute to Gregory Hines (a projection of him smiling and hugging his tap shoes).
Jason Samuels Smith received a 2003 Emmy Award for this choreography. - Source
