- Abstract
- "Paul Draper provided the element of novelty in last night's performance in the season of American Dance at the ANTA Theatre. On a program consisting otherwise entirely of works by and with Martha Graham, he tapped his way through three of his favorite numbers, and nobody in the house seemed to view the change of style with any artistic alarm.
The Gigue from Bach's "B Flat Partita";
"Alcina Suite"
"Dance Without Music" this last was a substitution for "On the Beat" to music by Couperin. The change was made by special request. It was a good idea, for it took him away from the classics for the moment and showed a different and a livelier phase of his work.
All three items were beautifully danced, as always. John Colman played excellent accompaniments."
