An exhilarating fusion of two percussive forms: North Indian kathak and American tap. Kathak dancer/choreographers Janaki Patrik and Anup Kumar Das and tap dancer/choreographer Olivia Rosenkrantz and Neil Applebaum, inspired by Indian ragas and American jazz and blues, create dances that are distinguished by an eloquence of movement and technique. The virtuosity of four Hindustani and four Western musicians and vocalists, led by Samir Chatterjee on tabla (drum) and D.D. Jackson on piano, provide rich counterpoint.
