- Abstract
- Four Step Brothers dance and Jerry Lewis steps in to try to imitate them; a chorus line of dancing women in high-heeled shoes dance loudly with taps and Lewis get so into it, he breaks into a tap jam; they do a Charleston; he tries to stop it but the women dancing carry him away so he can't stop; Dean Martin sings "Oh Marie" to a swing accompaniment; Martin introduced "four boys we had the pleasure to work with" and Prince Spencer and Maceo Anderson, and two other Step Brothers are joined by Martin and Lewis, all forming a line and do a soft-shoe to "Tea for Two"; one of the Step Brothers stops and remarks that it doesn't swing; "That's not dancing" says Anderson, "look out and see this" and he performs a fast buck dance to clapping accompaniment ; the 2nd Step Brother [ed. note unclear if this is Norman Rowe, Freddie James, or another dancer] performs an over-the-top, fast; #3 Step Brother turns and half-splits and a buck hop and split; #4 (Prince Spencer) slides and over-the-tops and jumps up to dive into a split.
Martin, obviously impressed, wants to compete and does a very decent steps that includes crossover as the line chants, "We want Deano" who jumps up; Lewis declares "Step back, I'm coming" and splits to performs fast flaps and cramp rolls; cubanola; and eccentric that is hysterical but show some knowledge of tapping; and included his own brand of funny waddling and stutter steps; finally jumps up over into a huge flop onto the ground; all end doing a shim sham shimmy. - Source
