- Abstract
- The company came into the American Theatre Lab as part off the Out-of-Towners series. Nine short dances set in a distinctive blend of ballet and jazz and tap-dance styles. The most appealing numbers were the unassuming, pure tap routines, where well articulated tapping took on the overtones of an animated conversation.
"Canyon" five part set to a score by Gerald Busby; gets most of Dunning's attention in this review, in which she does not write about the musicality of the taps but rather the diagonal lines of jumps in the choreography!
"Strickler has an astringent, buoyant way of sailing through a tap number, his arms recalling the stylishness of Fred Astaire"; The other highlight of the evening was the easy, focused dancing of Linda Sohl-Donnell."
