This performance the forerunner of the Chicago Human Rhythm Project founded by Lane Alexander and Kelly Michaels.
Alexander Michaels/Future Movement
Four generations of tap artists performed together at Northeastern Illinois University in an incredible display of versatility and expertise. Judy Austin, Nila Barnes, Julie Cartier, Ayrie King, Kelly Michaels, Nadine Nagy, Jimmy Payne (Chicago's tap master), Sarah Petronio, Bobby Rubenstein, Bruce Stegmann, Fred Strickler, Bobby Wells, Lane Alexander; and students from the Tracy Vonder Haar School of Dance and Performing Arts and the Sammy Dyer School of Dance. The two day workshop and a single performance raised over $1,000 for Open Hand/Chicago, a meals on wheels program for people with AIDS and their dependents.
