The Irving Fine Collection consists of the holograph music manuscripts and sketches, copyists' manuscripts, and published musical scores of the composer's works, as well as published scores of other composers; Fine's writings and correspondence; photographs; concert programs; newspaper clippings; subject files (unprocessed).

Forty (40) tapes have been transferred to the Library's Recorded Sound Reference Center (Motion Picture, Broadcast and Recorded Sound Division)
Holograph music manuscripts only, as "MFM 84/20,203 <MUS>”. Two additional holograph music manuscripts, those of Fine's String Quartet (1951-2) and the Romanza for wind quintet (1963), are held in microfilm copies as "MUSIC 1811, ITEM 27” and "MUSIC 1636,
