- Abstract
- Russian composer Jacobo Ficher (1896-1978) became significantly associated with Argentine music of the twentieth century after moving to South America in 1923. In addition to composing, he developed a brilliant career as an orchestra conductor, prominent teacher, and violinist. The Jacobo Ficher Collection comprises practically all of the composer's works, mainly holograph manuscript scores, in all major categories of composition including opera and ballet.

- 379 music manuscripts; biographical materials; correspondence, including more than 3000 letters; writings; approximately 500 programs dating from 1919 to 1997; and five scrapbooks of 200 pages each, dating from 1914 to 1990, with newspaper clippings, critical reviews, concerts programs, pictures, and letters.
