- The collection consists primarily of letters to composer and bandmaster Richard Franko Goldman and his father, bandmaster Edwin Franko Goldman. Major correspondents include Henry Cowell, Percy Grainger and Wallingford Riegger. Smaller but significant holdings include letters of Aaron Copland, Darius Milhaud, Douglas Moore, Leo Sowerby, and Edgard Varèse. The collection also includes a typescript (carbon) of the unpublished autobiography of Edwin Franko Goldman titled Facing the Music.
