- Robert Altshuler (1923-1997) was former Senior Vice-President of Corporate Publicity for CBS Records. He hosted a jazz radio program while still in his teens in Lawrence, Massachusetts and worked for Prestige, Riverside and Atlantic Records before joining CBS Records in 1965. He amassed a sizable collection of jazz and blues 78s, Lps and test pressings. The nearly 250,000 sound recordings from the Altshuler Collection are in the custody of the Motion Picture, Broadcasting and Recorded Sound Division.
