Pioneer Day in Clarke County
Clark
County Museum's Pioneer Day grew out of the Museum's desire to
preserve the ways of the early settlers of Clarke County and pass
them on to new generations. A number of pioneer chores and
activities are demonstrated in a living history festival. Crafts
demonstrated include churning butter, wooden shingle making, making
cane syrup, spinning cotton, and quilting. Project documentation
includes a six-page written report, eleven 8 x 10 photographs, an
information sheet on the Clarke County Museum, and four newspaper
clippings.
