Clearwater Fun 'n Sun Festival
Originating in 1954 when the Clearwater Merchants
Association decided their city needed a gala springtime festival
like other Florida cities, the event has grown from a parade
featuring mostly decorated cars and homemade floats to a procession
of professionally created floats, colorful units, harmonious
marching bands and cheery clowns.
As the years passed, a myriad of events such as art
shows, musical performances and even horseshoe tournaments joined
the fun. Today the Festival is a two-week extravaganza that
appeals to visitors and residents of all ages.
Project documentation consists of text, a schedule of
events, 8 x 10 color photographs, and a videotape of the 1999
Festival.
