International Civil Rights Center and Museum
The building that houses this museum of
African-American history was once the Woolworth store that was
the site of a historic civil rights action. On Feb. 1, 1960,
four black college students sat down at the white section of
the lunch counter, igniting the sit-in movement that spread
across the country. The project documents the transformation
of the Woolworth building into the Center and Museum.
