Following the Alaskan Dream: My Salmon Trolling Adventures in the Last Frontier

The book Following the Alaskan Dream chronicles the salmon trolling adventures of its author, Marilyn Jordan George, who left the Iowa farm country to marry a Norwegian fisherman in 1946. Living on their fishing vessel, they raised four children in the Alaskan wilderness while meeting its challenges and absorbing its beauty. George's story preserves the heritage and spirit of the pioneer lifestyle of southeastern Alaska as it was lived during the mid-twentieth century. Project materials include an audio cassette, a printout of Ms. George's web pages, and a copy of her book.
