NASCAR Day Festival

This event is held in Randleman, home of racing legends Lee and Richard Petty, in celebration of NASCAR racing and Petty Enterprises. Each year Main Street is lined with show cars, specialty car displays, souvenir trailers, craft vendors, amusements, and business displays. Four stages showcase entertainment by area and national performers of country, rock, bluegrass, gospel, and pop music. Each year since 1992, when the festival was part of the Richard Petty Fan Appreciation Tour, a commemorative postal cancellation has been designed to pay tribute to a person or event associated with NASCAR. The limited edition cancellation is stamped on a special cachet designed by the Randleman Chamber of Commerce with the NASCAR Day logo. Held since 1989, the event draws about 40,000 people to the town of 3,000 each year. Proceeds from the festival benefit projects of the Chamber of Commerce and various civic and charitable organizations.
