From the Emerald Isle to Little Ireland:
The Legacy of Farming in Brownsburg
This oral history project was conducted by a third
grade class. The children generated interview questions for the
farmers of Little Ireland, an area settled by Irish immigrants in
the mid-1800's. They wrote the introduction and conclusion to the
project, selected the photographs, painted a rural Indiana
landscape, and hand-stitched a quilt commemorating the legacy of
farming. The project is preserved on CD-ROM with accompanying hard
copy.
