Central State University v. Alabama State University Coca-Cola Circle City Classic, 1992 |
Coca-Cola Circle City Classic
Held in Indianapolis since 1984, this annual fall
event is centered around a football game between teams from
historically black colleges. It is also a celebration of the
African-American community and a renewal of commitment to youth,
with proceeds from the Classic going to the Indiana Black Expo
Scholarship Program. The Indianapolis Black Alumni Council holds a
college fair in conjunction with the Classic, giving students and
parents an opportunity to visit with officials from more than 50
colleges and universities. Festive events include a golf outing,
gala celebration, parade, and battle of the bands. The Classic is
documented in historical text, photographs, and promotional
materials.
