Family Immersion in Traditional
Norwegian Culture
Robin and Paul Carlson of Kenmare, North Dakota,
preserve Norwegian traditions as a family - Robin with her tapestry
weaving, yarn making, sculpture, making of traditional food
delicacies such as
kranskaake, and teller of traditional
Norwegian folk tales, and Paul with his woodcarving and
knife-making. They have been interviewed on national television and
have appeared at the state fair demonstrating their skills. Robin
documents the family's cultural immersion on videotape.
